why don't you put back the original part? (front rack especially) they look fantastic!
if I were you, finished it up, put back part like the chainguard, front rack, mudguard etc. and then cycle to work and lock that bike outside work - sit back and enjoyed the slight confusion from the guys at the recycling depot.
