  • What you could do is take a sharp flat bladed screw driver and place along the rim of the broken bb shell ( from the inside) . Gently tap it in the same direction you would to unscrew. You need to make sure you do not hit the threads so go along with care and ensure the blade of the screwdriver does not make contact with the threads of the frame but only touches the bb. The aim is to make a slight indent in the rim of the bb which you can then continue to use your screw driver against comfortably to unscrew out.

As long as you do not hit the threads directly you can use a reasonable amount of force to try to get it to begin to swivel once it does it should come out easily unless the thrads are damaged. It will be the same principle as releasing the lock ring without the correct tools and using a hammer and screwdriver.

this technique will work as i've had a similar problem in the past, just go gently at it and be patient.

    good luck
