There I was tootling along just past Cookham on a club run and I felt something ping off my left leg, I thought WTF? and looked down to see the top section ie handle, missing of the top of my couple of month old RoadAir2 pump.
I looked back and thought I could see the handle so rode back and looked but it was nowhere to be found, and thinking "oh sh*t" so what to do if I puncture??
Any old road up, I got home thinking well, there's £18 down the pan and lets ring the shop to see if I can scrounge a replacement, or even buy one.
Well, I do now I do believe in Fairies from today, as the Bike shop owner (the Bike shop in North Harrow, Quest peeps) said ok bring it in and we'll exchange it, and it'll be sent back as a duff one, along with all the rest that went that way. Its not often I'm gob smacked, but there was such a moment!
Ok, I was advised there's a batch of these pumps where the handles unscrew themselves, the manufacturer says they've cracked the problem, and patently haven't, and the Bike shop's attitude is its not reasonable for the handle to just fall off as it did, to me, and many others too apparently, and is hard nosed about making the manufacturer realise it, by sending the duff ones back.
A good story in one way, but do watch out if you have a RoadAir2 pump, and you may just want to Locktite the handle onto the screw threads, to keep it where it belongs.
BTW the Bike shop owner did say there's handles littered everywhere! He'd lost his on one occasion too.
Dab a bit on, screw on the item and leave to dry, hey presto, piff, paff, poff, it works.

Formatting Help
Don't worry about formatting, just type in the text and we'll take care of making sense of it. We will auto-convert links, and if you put asterisks around words we will make them bold.
Tips:
Create headers by underlining text with ==== or ----
To *italicise* text put one asterisk each side of the word
To **bold** text put two asterisks each side of the word
Embed images by entering: ![](https://www.google.co.uk/images/srpr/logo4w.png) That's the hard one: exclamation, square brackets and then the URL to the image in brackets.
* Create lists by starting lines with asterisks
1. Create numbered lists by starting lines with a number and a dot

For syntax highlighting, surround the code block with three backticks:
```
Your code goes here
Just like Github, a blank line must precede a code block.
If you upload more than 5 files we will display all attachments as thumbnails.
