that's just normal canti bosses, different to BMX U brakes which are designed to run on the underside.
I'm on about the fact that if you move your wheel on perfectly horizontal ends the brake needs adjusting to reach the rim properly. Rivendell angled theirs upwards so you don't need to do that if you change gearing, add/remove a chainlink.
