I just think that if someone is going to rape an old frame like that they either don't know / value what they have, or they do and they just don't give a fuck.
It's much more interesting to think that they don't give a fuck. By completely disregarding norms of good taste and lacking any desire to preserve something for prosperity; the owner is saying something about his own mortality. Just a thought.
Or he's just an idiot, and I should stop trying to find someway of justifying him......
