  • Who wants to ride next week and perhaps be in a TV program or something.

Do I know the details? Nope, not at all... but this is what I've just been sent.

    Hi David,

I'm Thom and I work for zdf German TV in their London bureau (they are kind of like BBC 2 for Germans!) I'm looking to run a story on fixed gear bikes and their users in London and I'm looking to potentially film a group of bikers (5 or 6) on Friday or maybe next week. Do you perhaps know of anyone who could help me?

If anyone would like more info they can email me at thomwaterhouse@hotmail.com or call me on 07960490880

    Thanks v much
    Thom

Maybe all you credit crunchers can accommodate a camera on your Friday afternoon ride? Or maybe you all want to take the poor soul down to the pub Friday night...

  • Get him down to polo at the weekend .......

  • what about the lunchtime roll from tate modern, usually happens for an hour from 1pm,

  • bureau is just the word for "office". Sounds a lot more dull now right?

  • I'm in, unless the BatPhone rings...

  • You should probably contact the guy then :)

I've let him know this thread exists, so I'm hoping you guys sort something out if you want in.

Oh, and mention the forum. I understand from a guy who used to run an old Raleigh forum that Germans are superb people to have online.

Great... youv'e just become the central character... I'll let him know ;)

  • Cool, it'll give me a chance to debut my new look for summer '09...

  • Tramp? It's not that new now, is it Joe?

  • The Tramp was spring '09, it's all about masks, bromance and touching swords at dawn for the summer...

  • im up for this. I do fuck all on friday nights...

  • The Tramp was spring '09, it's all about masks, bromance and touching swords at dawn for the summer...

This sounds a bit Heathers. Will there be a bottle of Perrier?

  • OK, It's THIS Friday, and not next Friday. And they want to broadcast early next week.

  • It's gonna piss down on Friday, skid-tastic... :S

  • Yeah horrid weather, silly Germans.

  • careful they don't cheesify it, Jos and I did a courier's eye view of the TdF prologue route in 2007 view that went out to 8 million Germans, couldn't have been more cheesy...luckily for us it is no longer online.

  • I'd love to get the Gentlemans' TwoBrake path fixie on the telly, I'm so fucking vain. Thing is I have to work to pay off the debts for all the bicycles...

edit: Ahaa rain, I haz mudguardzzz

  • David, with you being with a thread title grammar and spelling Nazi (<-pun alert!) I'd like to point out that Deutsche is spelt "Deutsche" and it should be "Deutsches" as TV is neutral.

  • I wish I'd learned German then I could go and live in Vauban and actually read Spinoza properly.

  • I've been working with Deutsche Bank this last 18 months... I've been spelling it wrong for ages. They've tired of telling me.

    Anyhow, corrected.

    Didn't Spinoza write in Latin?

Yep, ZDF is very, very middle of the road. It's what my mum watches. Lots and lots of hospital soap operas and "infotainment" shows, which I guess this will be.

Full marks, you spotted the deliberate mistake!

Actually, not sure... I have this recollection of 'Ethics' being in German but I may have mixed it up.

I know the two Tractuses (Tractii?) were in Latin. Because the names were in Latin.

Sounds like a stitch-up job then... Particularly with the Tarckstapo™ roaming the streets of Berlin giving Teddy brakless tickets an' all that...
