  • thought you mite be interested in what someone else on here did to their flyer

not quite budget but it is amazing. great job ed, i'm still surprised how good you made that bike every time i see it.

What are those handlebars. I'm looking for something similar for my Carlton...

  • Looks like Nitto B302 to me, Ed?

  • do a search for the handlebar list

    Edit: too slow...

  • Potty, you should find it in 'the list' (in bike & bits).

seriously don't ride that bike, your frame is fucked and you'll need to spend quite a bit of cash to sort that out, the downtube and toptube look like it's bend slighty due to the headtube being more vertical.

    DON'T RIDE IT.

the best outcome you have is that you got plenty of part on that bike to use on a new frame.

  • Here's what I did to an old Raleigh Flyer – same model as the bent one by the original poster. Just got it back this morning

  • Oh, and it was my first build, too – and this is my first post here.
Powdercoat done by Armourtex, short crescent bars and Pista Vera crank from BLB, Rigida wheels laced to Quando hubs (which are the first thing I'm changing, when I can afford to), no-name seatpost in the absence of an Aero-style one that will fit a 24.5m frame (anyone know of anyone who produces/produced such a thing? I'm looking for one), Brooks B17 Narrow saddle and crappy grips that will be replaced with either cork tape of cork grips when I get time...
