I would highly recommend the Andel chainset, available from BLB, about 50 quid

Sorry to hijack, nearly got 5 posts...Can I change my 52/43 chorus chainset to a single speed? I think I have to get smaller crank bolts dont I? Then set up with 43 tooth and get a single speed freewheel on the back. Where do I get the single speed freewheel from, I can only find shimano on the web, and wonder if there is anything else. DO Maillard do any, that is the blocks I have used before.
Cheers and good luck buying new Ives!

yeah you can, single chainring bolts aint hard to come by http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/userimages/procart4.htm
just a case of moving the ring on the spider to get the best alligment "chain line" if the rear wheel you are using has a screw on cassette rather than a shimano type on it is hard to singlespeed as you have to dish the wheel. often easier to buy a rear wheel with a flip flop hub, you can then put a single freewheel on without any messing.

Ives I think the cheapest you will find is a Stronglight 55, which is a one-piece crank and chain ring for 25 quid from Biddle Bikes: http://biddlebikes.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=59
If you want to spend a little more, get the a FSA Vero chain set which has a removable chain ring for 40 quid from Kiwi Cycles: http://www.kiwicycles.com/partsce.htm

Kiwi cycles do the FSA Vero chainset (1/8, 48T in black or silver) for £40. I've been using it for a good 9 months, battering it daily and its still solid as.

Newbie looking for parts: I'm after a chainset that'll fit my 110 square-taper BB. Can't post in the 'wanted' section yet. Anyone any ideas?

Thanks. Says that fits a 115 BB tho. Could I use washers?
Hi Guys, can you help?
I need a cheapish single speed chainset .
Don't need the BB. Ideally I'd like a 46t, 1/8".
Where's the best place to buy online?
thanks
Ives
