I can't have everyone coming down my way and not getting in on the action, so my night out with my mrs is on hold....... I sold it to her like this "I'll go out for something to eat but I promise I will moan non-stop about missing Polo" seemed to do the trick!
I checked the court a couple of times tonight and just a few kids riding around on their bikes.
If anyone doesn't know where this is I can meet them in Chorlton beforehand.

well played wayne! no point you/mirek coming over this way if this court is where you live. but the rest of us should meet at this end and ride out in a posse

i just came off my bike spectacularly coming home. we're all at it today! managed to twist my stem and seatpost, dislodge the chain and end up lying on ground, even though i was riding slowly on the pavement of my road. (i'm fine)

We would all feel cheated if Ben didn't wipe out at somepoint during a game. Ben's our lucky rabbit's foot: he goes down hard so that we don't have to. Saying that, I have a couple of polo 'kisses' myself from the last game with Andy.
It actually is like Fight Club - when the next day at work you have to explain away your bumps and scrapes. No blooded mouths or lost teeth yet, which is nice!

Yeah, i'm a mess today in work. My legs don't feel like my own.
Oh, and Roo is getting worse. I don't think he scored at all last night...

mirek has sliced up my left bicep (no wonder, it does burst out of my t shirt) pretty bad. think it was the jagged edges of a fresh mallet on my baby soft skin.
re: me getting worse...
i've given my A game a bit of a rest since the London tournament (which i won by the way), been rolling around on my C/D games since. and still speeding past you suckers down the wing. If you want I can dust off my A game and bring it down on sunday? was saving it for the Euros though you see.

This is from the "EHBPC Registration Deatials" thread...
Yeah, it's a shame, because London could field six world-class teams. I was thinking about talking to MCR and Rouen to let them know that London has 13 teams in it's qualifying tourney for the Euros, and ask them if they think they have three competitive teams or weather they might consider giving up a space for a London team.
This needs to be sorted. Nes when we first discussed this YOU said that we should only have 2 teams. And those 2 teams should be the best players we have. So we registered 2 teams, but you went ahead and signed up a 3rd.
In order to decide this we were talking about differenet options of fielding out the best players. We could have a mini qualifiers, but the majority agreed on deciding a definate "A" team then letting them chose the best players from all the games we are going to play from now until the tourney.
Everyone is considered Nes, you, sophie dan nick ect....but if these people aren't showing up to play then we have to sort this without them.
I don't think you should have registered a 3rd team, and I certainly think you should'nt go ahead with it. We just don' have that amount of competitve players. The right thing is to offer that team place to London, and come try out with the rest of us.

Yeah im with you on thsi Chan, was looking at some of the threads last night and it does seem a bit harsh on london if they are holding it and only four of some very good teams go through, but we have three cobbled together, one mroe than i think we can compete with at that level.

not sure i'm going to make it tonight, my rear wheel is without a freewheel or cog. if someone could bring a 20t or higher freewheel or fixed cog i could play.
or a casette, thinking of running a cassette on one side to stop the need to wheel flip when i arrive and leave.
anyone got an old cassette?
-
• #1549
I've got a 20t fixed you can borrow.
