VENOM TOURING FRAME 19.25in c1998 Columbus
    Seat Tube (ctt): 19.25in
    Top Tube (ctc): 20.25in
    Rear dropout width: 135mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop of approx 53mm)
    Bottom bracket threads: English
This frame is in excellent condition. It is built from a mix of Columbus double butted tubing.
Venom were a small Midlands based British framebuilder who built excellent frames using Tig welding in the 1990s - they built the top of the range Orbit of Sheffield touring frames - this frame appears to be very similar to one of the designs built for Orbit. It is is very uncommon to find a touring frame as small as this frame still using 700C wheels. £75

EDDY MERCKX COLUMBUS MAX FRAME 58cm 1990/1 SOLD subject to payment
    Seat Tube (ctc): 58cm
    Top Tube (ctc): 57cm
    Rear dropout width: 130mm
    Frame tubing: Columbus Max
    Bottom Bracket Threads: Italian
This is not an AX Leader but its predecessor built with standard Columbus Max tubing (the AX Leader has a variation on the Max tubing without all the ovalisations) - the seat and down tubes are ovalised in an horizontal plane at the bottom bracket and the top and down tubes are ovalised vertically at the head tube. All tube sizes are quite oversize so it makes for a lovely stiff frame. This frame is in very good condition and the paint generally has an excellent appearance - with a closer inspection some touching up can be spotted. There are no dents or other damage - Max is very thin walled so Max frames are often dented. The frame number is L C7182 - the C indicates 1990/1.
    £295

  • pm'd about pedals yesterday, no response

pm'ed about pedals yesterday, rang hilary 5min ago, apparently fruitbat pm'ed hilary first and did not post it on the thread... for fcuk sake if someone bother to pm than they should bother post it in a thread and make clear that they want an item - i thought it works this way, correct me if i'm wrong...

  • Dammit, if that Venom had horizontal dropouts, i would have bought it quick snap!!

    you're wrong.
its up to the seller to say if things are sold.
you don't need to unnecessarily write 'dibs' on the thread as a buyer, just pm, is easy.

  • which part of my post you do not understand? i'v wrote above that i'v pm'ed and posted on the thread regarding pedals [around 00:15am]. i rang hilary this morning and he said to me that fruitbat pm'ed him.... wtf... when i pm'ed hilary i saw no posts nor interest in the pedals in this thread...

@fruitbat next time just post that you are interested in an item - saves time and broken hearts :{)

easy for seller and buyer, but when forumngers open a thread and read through posts and find none of those regarding an item they want... they assume it is still for sale.... i think it is thoughtful to post a message and let people know that item is reserved or sold...

with eyebrows attitude this forum would become a battle ground or ebay like :P...

@eyebrows did not convince me that i'm wrong

  • I understood your post perfectly well, you however do not understand how things are sold on here.
Its whoever gets there first, through pm, or 'dibs'.
Neither the seller nor the buyer has any obligation to tell anyone though.
normally the seller updates the list as and when purchases happen, but not always.
    Simples.

  • Dibs is shit. If you want something PM the seller. There are no rules.

    Tough luck ma9n3t.

i understand your point however i have seen so many posts "dibs following pm"
don't you think it does make sense? surely it is not hard [in general] to indicate to other members that you want an item so they don't need to bother....

it is little bit like when making a turn left or right - you not only blinking to a driver ahead but also to others involved:{) - simples - that is my point

    end of my rant:{)

  • that is my point andy, i did pm and dibsed...

i was trying to hunt down suntour pedals for my mate.... found, pm'ed first, dibsed first.... - viva wild west

  • you did dibs first but you didn't PM first did you? otherwise the pedals would be yours! simples

  • ^ Well, just so theres no confusion and upset people around here, i bought the Wolber rims lastnight, so dibs.

  • you did dibs first but you didn't PM first did you? otherwise the pedals would be yours! simples

how do i fcukin know if i pmed first or not if no one posted on the thread - that is the fcukin point:{)

You know that you weren't first because you didn't get the pedals.
