murtle, I was hoping you were actually gonna say what kind you wear. I forgot and they actually didn't jam my eyelashes against my eyes when I tried 'em on that once.
Sunglasses trick your eyes into thinking it's darker than it is out and in doing so your pupils will dilate in an effort to process more light. By wearing unpolarised lenses you are dilating your pupils but you're not stopping any of the harmful UV rays from penetrating your glasses so in effect you're frying your eyes. If you're not wearing glasses on a sunny day your body compensates by squinting and therefore allowing less UV rays in... So the moral of the story is NEVER wear unpolarised sunglasses!!
