  • brick lane polo on a sunday? anyone? huh?

  • c'mon folks. sunday's are brick lane. you know it. :D

  • those were the times

  • what is this thread?

  • fail

  • So. Polo today? I'm pretty gutted that I missed out on yesterday.

  • c'mon dick lovers. lets do brick lane, not downham or anywhere else. its for the people of the world. polo for the people.

  • Hi, me and about ten individuals here in Cambridge have been playing polo on sundays for a short while .
    http://www.londonfgss.com/thread12147.html

We are not particularly refined yet but would like to come down this sunday (29th?) to see ( and maybe play ?) some London polo . Is the Brick lane court still going on sundays and is it a good representation of the london polo scene ? We just would like to check out the finer subtle details of the rules/reffing and their interpretation before we pick up bad habits (and see how far we have to improve). There will be about 6 of us , we have bikes and mallets. I'm not sure what's happening on the Brick lane court these days and thought it was best to check before we come all the way down. Possibly even arrange to meet on a better London court and a better day if there was any interest. I visited a couple of sundays last year and was either too early or there was something going on else where so i thought i'd contact you in advance . I imagine the weather and the night before may come into consideration too.

    Cheers RV

  • Do it .........

If you are definitely coming down then I'd a say a Saturday would be better as there tends to be all dayer's in either North or South London. Sunday's used to be busier at the Lane but the weather seems to play a bigger factor in getting people out.

If you are definitely coming then I'm sure we'll pull a crew together to give you some games and advise and stuff.

  • Come down for the full weekend! that way you'll get to experience a couple of different courts and different game styles. The best (fastest/more competitive) polo seems to be played on a saturday at the moment, sundays are always really laid back and lazy.

  • +1
    Saturday all dayer FTW

  • aseenon, pm shinscar and he can get you into the polo numbers thread, so you can contact people to find where they are.

  • Cool thanks , i am a market trader so saturday is out for me unfortunately , i'll see what everyone else is up for . Maybe something laid back may suit us though for sunday ?

  • sunday will be fine, we'll make sure there's a decent turnout at a reasonable time.

  • Thanks. I'll see what the rest of our lot think about doing saturday too . Don't mind meeting up anywhere in london , whatever suits you .

  • Need crash test dummies for my new (recycled) kevlar armour bits. Those with best scars qualify first... Photos welcome!

  • Got anything for hips? And how about a pic of this stuff?

  • Need crash test dummies for my new (recycled) kevlar armour bits. Those with best scars qualify first... Photos welcome!

    Strangest post ever.

  • I'll open up the bidding with a bent shinbone (does that count as a scar?) two scars that form an L on my side (one from falling down a ladder and one from crashing into a tree branch, the usual elbows, knuckles and knees... and a large heamatoma (again does that cound as scaring?) and finally a scar from a knife that I grabbed whilst on acid (which was being waved about by a friend who was also on acid)...

Oh forgot the scar from where they opened me up to put a metal plate in my shoulder...

  • Don't let me post those photos Aidan, Gabes, dt and Emilie took on my camera. GROSS!

  • yeah hops, post them!

  • guess the scabs competition?

  • I think I'll know my own.

  • Knorknight, not even close my friend.

  • Didn't think I would be, that's why I got the list in early... worst thing is that other than the elbows and hematoma none of it was caused by polo... nearest I've got is the op scar from the broken collarbone which I did on a bike...

Considering how many crashes I've been in (on and off the polo court) I'm relatively scar free...
