    8.31pm on the return.

definitely taking the bike bags for the train.

  • otters, Rotten Apples are on that train!

Roxy and I are on the same train out. Did the early one in hopes of not needing to bring a bikebag!

  • Adrienne, Jon, and I are also on the 9:21. Who's bringing the booze?

Also, if someone can bring a polo bike for me ;)

  • B and I are on the 8:21am too

  • Does anyone know what National Express are like about taking bikes on their coaches? Can you just throw them in the hold with the luggage?

Our transport has partly fallen through and so looking at other ways to get down.

  • PiQuEtron, can you bring my mallet as a spare please?

  • The buses to Oxford from london are called oxford tube and oxford espress

    http://www.oxfordtube.com/

Both run about every 15 minutes along a route from Victoria, and you can pick them up at a few places along the way out west. They run all night and do a day/next day return ticket.

Each bus takes 2 bikes and will occasionally take more if you're nice. I've never had a problem getting my bike on.

I'd get off at the "St Clements" stop on the way into Oxford, as it's close to Cowley Road and only 10 mins from the court.

  • Sorry, coming from Cambridge not London.

There's either the National Express or the X5 but I have no idea about either taking bikes.

  • Travel from Cambridge to Oxford can be a pain. X5 allows bikes, according to someone who has taken their bike on that service.

Else I'd say train to London then Oxford tube bus might be the cheapest way

  • Did i read that we have to wear helmets for this tourney...? or is that the EHBPC...?

(crosses fingers) please let that be EHBPC otherwise i need to buy one tonight.....!

  • There is no rule that helmets have to be worn! Just don't bang your head please

  • I'm sure we'll sort our travel out fine. Bloody Oxford's always further away than you think.

I'm really excited and hoping for matches in the spirit of this....

Jo is driving to Oxford from Cambridge tomorrow morning, her name is Shippey. on here if you want to pm her and see if she can fit you in the car... worth a try but she's working tonight and might not be able to check forum

  • Ooops meant to quote this one...

  • Hey All,

Arte, a pretty killer tv channel is coming to film. It's for a show called Tracks that has already done a nice piece on the Fixed Gear scene. The producer's lovely and named Nicoletta. If you don't want to be filmed it will be fine, just let her know.

Arte is broadcast in Germany, Switzerland, France and Canada I believe. It's great press and outreach for the Euro's. Hopefully some random orphan polo team that none of us knew existed yet will see it and we'll all become one happy polo family.

Nicoletta has already come to observe polo in London and talk to some of us. It's one of the first crew's to actually do research ahead of time, woo-hoo!

I am sorry to spring this on anybody, just keep getting too busy to post!

  • Oh and I'd like to be on the Bastard Hybrids or the Lonely Hearts, so count me in for the mutt team!! We'll be there early!

That is awesome. There are a few of us coming down but that might definitely help. I'll send a PM.

    Thanks a lot!

  • hiya. there's 3 teams coming from mcr now. that alright?

  • yeah that is cool
its looking like we have 18 teams for this at the minute
    which is a bit mental
just means we all have to play less
    and drink more

  • So Cambridge are now one short of two teams. We've got 5 people coming down so hopefully they'll be an extra person hanging around that wants to make up another team...

  • Great day.....thanks everyone (esp zoe). Some awesome battles towards the end of the day. Best team def one, but note to los conos....you guys played amazing...and you could have taken our tourney route if it wasnt for the sudden death goal we got...Cosmic!!!

Photographers....please post up some pictures - cheers.

    Roll on cambridge next!

  • This was absolutely splendid. We had an amazing time. The games got incredible towards the end.

Thanks to everyone who made it happen! It was lovely to meet everyone that we hadn't before, especially the Manchester guys who gave us a rad game with much swearing and shoving!

Cambridge next? That would be swell but we need to get organised first!
