I used to fall off all the time, dagnabbit...but I've since paid my dues and now only fall off on special occasions.
Never once have I had an accident while pissed though....Curious.
Correlation?

2007 - cliveo has one bicycle accident.
2008 - cliveo has one bicycle accident.
2009 - cliveo has no bicycle accidents. So far, 2009 is looking at a massive downturn in cliveo related cycling accidents. Fingers crossed (not while cycling obviously as that could cause an accident.)
And how many collisions have you had that were not accidental? They would get into the statistics, as well, you know.
Very pleased to see the police now using 'incident' on sandwich boards calling for witnesses and information.

100% have cycled under the influence of drink or drugs"
that would be about 99% because of the straight edgers and dale

Oliver, you know perfectly well that, try as I might, I could never catch you to run you off your bike.

You did get pretty close on Critical Mass. ;)

Dale is on high doses of estrogen but I'll give you the 99% for those edgy straighters.

Ooh, this got into Bad Science:

He basically makes the same points as the CTC, but nice to see this refuted again.

This seems to be a good thread to post this.

SAFETY IN NUMBERS FOR CYCLISTS
06.05.2009
Prosser, Gwyn
That this House acknowledges the evidence that cyclists gain from safety in numbers, in other words cycling gets safer the more cyclists there are; welcomes the target in the Government's draft Road Safety Strategy to halve the risks of cycling within 10 years; believes that this target can best be met by also aiming for substantial increases in cycle use in order to maximise the safety in numbers effect, thereby also benefiting health, communities, the economy and the environment; urges that the Road Safety Strategy should tackle the fears which deter people from cycling, such as traffic speeds, irresponsible driving, hostile roads and junctions and lorries; and calls for cycle training to be made available to people of all ages so as to achieve more as well as safer cycling.
It's a good 'un.

And from http://www.londonfgss.com/thread19782.html 4 weeks ago
Only twats ride with worn cleats
And it jolly well hurts.
10 stitches on a gash which exposed a chipped elbow and monstrously bruised buttocks.
Luckily the bus that was behind me as I spun out of control was far enough behind to see me and stop.
Thanks to the pedestrians who helped me off the road.
I cycled the mile or so home, dripping blood all the way and then my wife kindly drove me to the Whittington where they were superb.
My cycling jersey was ruined but its quality certainly saved me from further abrasions.
No cycling this weekend.
Should this be in the epic fail thread?

Safety's in numbers--don't believe the alarmist headlines.
