Still don't get the appeal of the BMW's.
4130 tubing OTP frame for 700 quid. Oh, and a cack name.
Oh $775 in the states. Seems a tad more reasonable than here

Have you ridden one?
It's not standard 4130...the profiling costs Joe a lot more than you think.
Every Brooklyn is hand made by 4 guys....hardly mass production.
Add in the import,VAT, shipping etc and Money for the uk distributor before you get too excited about the dollar price. -

No, not ridden one.
I can appreciate that it's hand made in the states, but if I was in the market for a hand made frame I'd probably go for someone who does custom sizes and colours, and with nicer tubing for around the same (or less) money.
I'd dare say it's probably got a lot to due with the geometry too, I'm more a fan of traditional track frames rather than the BMX inspired stuff

The dodici's will be in next week, black, white, polished & custom colors. We hope to retails them £60 ish.
£700 for the BMW's really isn't bad when you add up all the costs & waiting you've got to do when ordering from the US.
Sorry if our hex's offend! -

Joe based the Gangsta geometry on his traditional raleigh track frame that he's been riding for a long time..it wasn't bmx influenced...a lot of companies now are copying Joes ideas because he did things his own way and made a frame that handles beautifully but is also perfect for the new school fixed riders too.
As for price...tokyo fixed gear are actually selling them cheaper than they should be. -

I've looked closely at a couple of BMW GTs
they are very, very nice bikes and seem excellent for their intended purpose
-
• #15
The Gangsta is fucking lush, ridden one a while ago, and would happily pay that much for it!
-
• #16
This one has got quite a traditional set-up (box rims, drops etc), but still doesn't do it for me. Must be the sloping top tube I guess then
-
• #17
if you know someone who have it, try it out and you'll probably fell in love with it.
-
• #18
I'm sure they're excellent bikes in terms of function, but like Ste_S I'm more into the thin-tubed, classic frame look, and I don't like sloping top tubes, either. But each to their own.

I think i saw a video of a bloke doing a bunny-hop on a quarter pipe (just a staright up bunny-hop then coming back down fakie) whilst riding a Brooklyn. The forks snapped clean off at the crown. I thought they were supposed to be strong as fuck?

-
