What do you think of my new vintage Carlton frame?

Think it'd be possible to get two wheels for it (fixed or flip-flop) which I could then transfer easily to most/all other frames later?

yes, that is very possible indeed. spend a decent amount of money on wheels and move these to another frame when you have the money for it.
people on this forum can help you build wheels (just search for the thread) which will save you money. Dogsballs built mine. Very good.
