So there has been a lot of talk recently about fund-raising for the forum.
After consulting a few peeps, I've had an idea. Basically we can make a LFGSS Book, which is completely user-generated. I'd appreciate any feedback or ideas, but it would be a good quality coffee table style book, filled with mainly photos but also design work and maybe some text.
The main point of this would be that everyone would get a page or a photo in, so it involves everyone (i.e. nice book, people can say their work is in it.). Think 200 people put in a photo each - 200 page book.
It would encompass all parts of the forum, say in different chapters, Long Rides, Drinks, Tricks, Polo, Rolla Races and anything else you can thing of. Also get some of the larger group shots in so everyone possible is in the book somehow.
I've got a few quotes based on a 200 page book for a 200-300 print run, and selling it at £15 (maybe 20?) we could make a grand easy for the forum, on the basis that everyone that contributes buys one. I realise this would have limited selling outside of the forum, but who knows maybe if it works other forums might buy some and do one for their forum to may money.
So what do you think? Everyone gets a book that they/their work is in, celebrates life on the forum and we make some dough for VB to buy a new server.

Response to the LFGSS Book has been magnificient, from those who want to buy a copy as well as those who want to contribute.
PhotoBen and myself have got an email address lfgss.book@gmail.com which we'd like you to start emailing, with your thoughts/suggestions, and contributions. We're going to start contacting people in the next few weeks, to solidify the plan for getting the book into a working shape.
Right now the plan is this. Myself and PhotoBen are going to form a core group of designers/production people to produce the book. We'll be contacting all those who've offered their services and we'll need you to send us some samples of work, or link to a website for us to have a look at.
For the record the book is going to be tilted towards photographic/design/ilustration work, so approximately 70% imagery, 30% text,. and will be covering the topics below, we may add in a couple more depending, and we'll probably have to commission a couple of new pieces of work as well, but right now this is what you should be having a think about in terms of where your piece of work/ photgraph/ design/ illustration/ text or prose should sit.
