A friend of mine is organising a cycle ride from London to Copenhagen to go to the Co2penhagen festival. They will be leaving on the morning of 31st August to cycle to Harwich (about 80 miles) for the evening ferry. The ferry will drop them in Ejsberg the following morning and then there are two and a half days to cover the 250 miles to Copenhagen. I think the plan is to stay in campsites (renting tents there rather than carrying them).
There are about 15 of them so far (I can't make it myself but it sounds like fun) and I think it is definitely a case of the more the merrier.
There isn't a group plan for getting back to London; everyone will fly, train or cycle as they see fit. I think my friend is taking the train but I guess not everyone will have the time for that.

The world's first carbon-neutral festival CO2PENHAGEN will take place at the Danish Technical University, Copenhagen from 4-6 September 2009. (http://www.co2penhagen.com/)
Inspired by the sustainability principle which underpins the festival - one of seven chosen by the United Nations to draw attention to the issue of climate change - CYCLE CO2PENHAGEN invites cyclists from around Europe to make the journey to the festival by pedal power. The cyclists will meet in central Copenhagen on Thursday 3rd September, where the Danish Design Council will be holding a citybike roadshow. On Friday there will be a procession by bike out to the festival site for the grand opening.
The London to Copenhagen leg is being coordinated by Emma Thomas and Rebecca Myatt. It will involve four days' travel over 300 miles; London to Harwich and Esbjerg to Copenhagen. Other cyclists from around Europe are invited to join us by coordinating their own rides.
Cycling fits perfectly with the theme of the CO2PENHAGEN festival which will combine design and imaginative thinking with the latest technology to show that green living doesn't have to be boring living. CYCLE CO2PENHAGEN uses the bicycle to embody that spirit by combining adventure and fun with sustainable travel.
