Bike shops don't seem to like stocking coloured 75 cranks, I know that much. Talked to Cavendish and BC recently (both great shops, not knocking them) about some black ones, both conversations went something like:
Me: I was wondering if there's any chance of you getting some black ones in? 165mm?
Shop: Black ones?
Me: Black ones.
Shop: We used to do them.
Me: Any chance you will again soon?
Shop: Ooh, well, dunno, we haven't ordered them for a long time now.
Me: Any idea how much they'd cost?
Shop: Well, it's hard to say really.
Me: How much are your silver ones?
Shop: £XXX.
Me: Probably be more than those then?
Shop: Maybe.
Me: What with them being fancier and everything?
Shop: I guess so, dunno...
Neither of them said 'Ooh, we could order them in though, that would be more business for us!'.
This would suggest to me they are distributed by a different distributor to the other stuff and/or the wholesale prices are not in the shops favour.
