  • ...Oh and make sure you do them clipped in! :)

Yeah, sure sure. :) I'm practicing riding backward clipped in as well.. since that, I think I have the best un-clip times of all :D

  • So your bikes do the same when you lift them up they 'turn their head around'? ..like a common bike thing, similar to cats - when you pet them they start to purr and rise their tail :)

Mine used to do it and it really pissed me off, as soon as my bike left the ground the bars and wheel would start flying all over the place like a blouse on a washing line. I tightened the allen bolt at the top of the steerer and it pretty much stopped it after a liitle bit of tweaking

  • aaaahaa.. I see.. thanks a lot for that.. gonna defo try that tommorow. hope it's gonna work, I actually keep my bum on the saddle when doing that so its problably just a matter of leaning more backwards.

Heh. And I was already getting concerned that there is something wrong with my headset.. while it's just my head :D

is your bike a road-specific fixed wheel? because with the relaxed fork, once it turn at a certain angle, it somehow managed to turn as if there's a weight on the wheel pulling it round.

either way it shouldn't affect your ablity really, it just take time to get used to the feel of trackstanding that once you mastered it in a month or so time, you'll come back to this topic and think "shit man, I do need to HTFU".

  • Its a track frame with drilled road fork.. +drops, maybe that's why.
You're right edscoble, I should stop behaving like a pussy.. cat and just do it :D

  • that's usually why, but I seen people being able to execute no-handed trackstand on conversion either way.

  • I've got a road conversion and it's pretty easy to no hands track stand (sitting down), once you get one hand track standing down it's just a case of having the balls to take your hand off and keep calm. Good luck...

  • call me stupid but why on earth would anyone want to do a no-handed track stand? are you wanting to read the London Lite at pedestrian crossings or something?

Pick your nose and scratch your arse at the same time without putting a foot down? :)

  • just my another miserable plan, to make a fortune from track stand competitions :)

really? I think it helps with getting to know each other (you and your bike) :D. A beer.. sorry, a better feel of balance...
If you have a good balance at low speeds it helps you to maneuver around cars in the traffic. I don't like putting my foot down somehow, especially on the fixed, because then you have to bring your foot forward and lift the bike a bit to let the wheel spin etc.. too much :D

    Because you can...

... i.e. "why do you want to climb that hill?" "Cause it's there"

  • "why do you want to climb that hill?"

...what did it do to you? :D

  • :-)

Did I see you trackstand no-handed before?

As for my reasoning, need to clean my glasses inbetween traffic light.
