• See title. I would like to borrow one...

    Thanks :)

    Alistair.

  • Easily made from threaded rod, two nuts, two washers and a couple of bits of wood (all available for peanuts from your local builders' merchants) in case no one turns up with one. Mine cost me the making of a round of teas for the guys fitting aircon to the office.

  • i got a hammer

  • the tool of a pikey.
    keep it real Murts.

  • Smashing! You can hammer out love between your brothers and your sisters all over this land. Handy.

  • i am a grumpy fncker, i only hammer in the morning...........when everyone is sleeping

@spagbele, i fitted my chris king with the same hammer and a bit of pallet wood. perfectly.

in fact i have fitted over 10 that way. and did hippy's too

  • exactly.

you fitting a Chris King with a hammer =

    pikey.

  • haha

    and, yes??

  • Ok Murt, a hammer is all well and good... has anyone got one they want to lend? I cba to work out how to make one...

  • what? make a hammer?

  • no you akward cnut, a headset press.

  • :)

not hard, just a foot length of turned bolt, the type for fencing etc, 2 nuts and a couple of fnckoffbig washers

  • will almonds do?

  • nope, has to be testicles

  • @spagbele, i fitted my chris king with the same hammer and a bit of pallet wood. perfectly.

Heh heh! Me too, well me and a friend who knows a bit more about bikes than me who I always go to when I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing. There was nervous moment as I was holding the bike steady and he had hammer and wood in hand and asked me one more time:

'You sure you want to do it like this, I have no idea if it'll work or not....'

'Errrm.....hmmmm........yeah fuck it give it a wallop'

    TONK

It went in sweet as with that one hit :D

  • I have bought myself a proper headset press recently, so have a length of threaded rod and nuts that is free to whoever wants it. You will need to source some proper oversized washers for it, as I've lost mine, but then you're away.

  • i ahve just found some large washers that might do the job. will bring this eve

  • Ali you can get the length of stud and all the bolts from stores, they don't have the oversized washers though so you'll have to get them off murtle.

  • Where's west Drinks tonight? I have a real headset press and I'm in Ealing.

  • same place every week charlotte, i'm in ealing too :)
