max, strongbow is alcopop, no other tools needed, I've now got 2 bb tools, and carry a crank puller anyway! :-)

Although if you have some loctite, I'll give it a go... figure the corner shop nearby might have some anyway...

could be worse, my polo bike exploded itself today... after the amusing flying off of bb, cranks et al, my chain snapped as I was leaving the court!

I'll tape it all back together for next week... dave's leg I do feel guilty about though... will have to get some kind of outer-ring cover so I don't mash up anyone else's leg...

I'm completely unhurt (I got more injuries from going swimming on sunday!), the bike is actually in a surprisingly good state. nothing some more filing and bolt tightening can't fix. Should be a proper stable bike in time for wests on Monday.

The need to cover the outer ring of the double is troubling me though... anyone got any suggestions? I'm thinking 42 teeth worth of chain with rubber bands running through them?

Woot, threadless bb installed last night (after further filing down), completely uneventful (in terms of bb at least) ride in this morning... I will be testing it fully tonight at west polo, but I think your recomendatin about threadless bb has turned out to be a great idea and saved me aprox £30...
