dude operative words are champions league, its a different competition, so they can say it with impunity, seeing as the champions league has been going for what eighteen years.
Personally I'm all for a return to the old fashioned knock out, puts the fear into you every match, and means teams have to play every match as if it were their last.

I disagree. It is exactly the same cup. Otherwise they would not have given it to us to keep in 2005. They can't change the semantics of it as and when they please.
