I think the main disadvantage with the stock Allez is the utter-shite Sora chainset. I think it's made of foam. Replaced mine (Allez '08) with a Tiagra chainset. I have now made small upgrades to the whole bike as I think on the whole the frame is very good. I now pretty much sport full 105.
