The adidas and Mavic brands were both owned by Adidas-Salomon AG until 2005, when the Saloman part of the company, including Mavic, was sold off to a Finiish manufacturer. Even under new ownership the Saloman/Mavic division continued to make all the adidas cycling stuff under license, or at least they did until they decided not to renew the licensing contract this year. From now on everything will be sold under the Mavic brand name, so no more three stripe shoes for now I'm afraid.
