I'm currently finishing off my lo-pro and mine originally came with 650 front forks but i wanted it to be slack despite it's aggressive appearance, so i switched out the forks for a 700, which was perfect.....slacker angles...higher bottom bracket...slightly higher front....but you'll have to get used to the slightly floppier steering....not something that bothered me....but might annoy some people.

i was thinking more for 700 actually, cus im fear that 650 will make it really snappy. what are the stats of the other parts in your build?

Well as 24" is smaller than 650 or 700, a swap to 650 will still slow the steering without affecting things quite as much....if you went from 24" to 700 it'd be way too slack handling....even more than mine which had pretty slack angles even with the 650 it was meant for.

another thing i was wondering about is pedal clearance. would 650 leave me with too little ground clearance?

No...because like i said...650 is BIGGER than 24" so it would raise the BB higher by a fraction.

Are you sure the 24" isn't just further away?
;-)

nah dude, i know its bigger, its just im used to riding 700, so i just dont know how big the difference is in comparison

best solution? get used to it.

Just purchased a new cougar low-pro frame, the forks that came with it is 24" and way too small.

sound's silly, but why not just buy a bike that fitted in the first place?

I ride a Lo Pro with a 650 on the front. It does feel 'twitchier' than a standard set up with 700's. But you quickly get used to it. With limited info above, I'd say try the 650.

yeah, thats what im gonna go for, i have a 650 wheel lying around anyways. Know anyone selling 650 forks? gonna put a wanted thread up then.
Hey all
Just purchased a new cougar low-pro frame, the forks that came with it is 24" and way too small, was wondering if i should go 650 or 700. and what would be the diff between the two in terms of handling and performance.
any other advise and tips would help, cheers guys.
