90 miles N of nyc, very hilly, very beautiful dairy land w/views of the Catskills, Berkshires and Mohonks and the Hudson river threading thru it all. Brits like it here because it reminds them of home. Great cycling with the best roads and no traffic - come visit (I sound like the freekin tourist board)!

One trick is to go find the longest hill you can - Alps, Rockies or in a pinch Muswell hill and just keep doing it til you love it - it works! ;-}

Hi there, currently ride a single speed freewheel I built out of an alu/carbon race bike, for commuting and the odd lap of Richmond Park!
Looking at some of the older steel pista bikes, for something a bit more fun to fly around on the weekends and maybe to ultimately replace my current one, any ideas appreciated!Thanks,

My tried-and-true method is to bike to work. When hills intervene between home and work you either do it or you don't. I'm learning to love them - only not when I haven't eaten enough that day!
Welcome to the newbies! If you're in the west area, get over to Wests. We love new blood. Makes things loud and enjoyable.

I realised although I've been posting quite a bit I hadn't introduced myself, bit rude really. Lovely place you've all got going on here, seriously amazed by how nice peeps are.
I used to be a mountain biker before I moved to London, had my £2k team Orange P7 nicked out my back garden (ouch) stopped cycling for a good few years then decided to get going again and that fixed made the most sense.
Had a unipack for a bit (anyone want to buy it? No?!) now got a Genesis Flyer which is going to get some modifications :)
Missed the fixed mag launch (which sounded good) because I thought it was tonight and had an operation today so not allowed out, might come along to a drinks soon though - North drinks are at the top of my training run (Swains lane - I live not far from the bottom of the hill).

Heyyy, what what? I eat plenty! Sometimes I just forget to eat enough before going on 10 mile rides. : ( Then I get loopy and feel like my back tire is going flat. That sucks!

If you are going by jayloo's pic, he's very selfish - it's all "Me me me me me me me!"

You'd win. The fact I can tell you that with so much certainty should tell you something!
It's handy to have nearby for improving faster though :)
