Black unipack with yellow wheels parked up in town. My god they are rough looking in the flesh.
I know I am a bit of a tool - ok
and taking into consideration that I may get ridiculed for the rest of my time on these boards, could I just ask 1 question ...
What is a unipack ?
-
• #280

Spotted helga at the top of Heeley Rd this evening. I would have shouted but I was in my flatmate's car.
Is the frame pink or orange?I've got my replacement Pompino frame now, so a white Pomp with white seatpost around Selly Oak will be me from next week.

It's a rather bright pink, but in the evening looks orange! I also just got a blue chain, so it's starting to look even crazier.
I was taking a test run of cycling with my bad ankle (mainly with one leg cycling) - discovered that it hurt less than walking - so cycling is the way forward!
Will look out for you in Selly Oak....which road do you live on?

Westminster Rd. Usually use Raddlebarn, Heeley, Dawlish and Bournbrook.

Guy outside of 'A TOO' with a beautiful 50's restoration blue/white crown track frame.
Seriously nice single speed. Didn't introduce myself properly, too busy perving on his bike.Messenjah absailing down the side of a building [obligatory joke about couriers going to any length etc etc etc]
A guy in a blue cap riding a new polished bianchi, drops white tape.
Practicing skids on the pavement at the top of digbeth high street.
I would have chatted but I was all kinds of busy. -

(messenjah posting)
Did you really see me? My legs were flapping everywhere and the rope kept trying to make me swing around the corner of the building! And I got rope burn! Despite all that bollocks it wasn't actually scary, it was just difficult... after not doing it for about 13 years I sorta expected that.

Im the other way round, find abseiling ridiculously easy but get all scared, especially at the top when trying to set your feet to lean back etc..
Was this for charity, publicity stunt, tourist activity?
-

charity man, one of our clients.
scariest bit is allowing all your weight to be taken by the rope... i hate that bit but once it's over theres no more fear, just enjoyment
-

I hate it in climbing when the person pull your safety rope too hard, so it unweights you from your hands/feet. Awful awful feeling, and really awkward to climb when you cannot lean into the rockface.

saw a rider on a bright green bike (looked like a conversion), white saddle, possibly bullhorn or flat bars (too far to tell) yesterday round 5pm at a cross roads near UB40s studios (forgot name of street).
then later saw a dude riding a white peugeot conversion on stratford road, on the foot path in hall green with about 20 spoke cards in back wheel.

Hey hyperallah, cool to meet you briefly (by the floozy). Looks like summers over anyway. . .

• #297
Hey, what type of frame are you looking for your next build? Another conversion or something with track ends?
If I see any decent frames I'll let you know. -

would love a track frame but can't be doing with how overpriced they are compared to road frames. Want something steel, preferable lighter than 531 (competition or columbusSL or whatever) would LOVE something built in the midlands, really wanted the pollard Hilary stone had for sale but had vertical drops. Went to see a rourke owned by a guy called Rik on the forum 60cm ctt, perfect, had a dent which I didn't mind, but it had slightly bent the top tube(only a mm or two), rourke said they can try to straighten but to replace would be 50/60 quid, reasonable I thought, but then I've not got a lot of work at the mo so can't spend a fortune. In no hurry as can ride mine for the meanwhile and wait for something that really suits. Got my girlfriend to take my measurements for this http://competitivecyclist.com/ which for a traditional geo frame says I need 62cm ctt and 56cm top tube, which is plenty bigger than what I have (which gives me neck ache after a while) Wow long post. Anyone sees anything then please let me know. Wanted to do the brum to cheltenham on sunday but am in norfolk, anyone doing it?

Hey chaliapin, just incase your interested I had a top tube dent 'rolled' out by Trevor 'Flying Gate' Jarvis at his workshop in Tenbury.
A really nice guy and top bloke when it comes to re-working any steel frames. He would have your dent out, and the frame straightened before you could say er....
Trevor Jarvis ?

^^^How much did he charge you for that? I have a top tube that needs a dent getting out of it.
