Hi!
Just finished this, couple of hours yesterday evening, and I woke up an hour earlier to finish it so I could ride it to work this morning...
I found this Dawes frame in the bin on my street, old mountain bike steel frame, reynolds 500 cro-mo tubbing and some lugs (Yipee!!).
I fitted it with the wheels from my girlfriend single speed bike that she never uses, and her saddle, an old B17 standard I chopped a while ago... Every thing else was spare bits and bobs I had...
I still need to find a chain ring. since this one is 50!! (my sproket is 17) I am looking for a 44 chainring, for shimano 5 pins spider (130 bcd I suppose?) and short chainring bolts since I am too lazzy cutting the ones I have...
Also I still need to finish to shave all the brazed on bits...
At the beginning of that little project, I though I'd ask MV to fit some track dropouts, but am hoping magic gear will be OK with the 44X17 ratio, I have a half link in stock if needed... so far, as 50X17, I've got good chain tensionning, except I can't really skid, unless I help myself with the front brake, but I almost broke my knees...
The seat post is very high, I suppose this is because it is a MTB frame, otherwise, it doesn't feel too small...
