Shimano is JIS, you would need a longer axle to compensate I believe.
What hub will you be using? Some don't have the standard track 42mm chainline.

I have the miche advanced cranks and use the miche primato bb, english iso 107mm, rear hub is 120, chainline is perfect.
The bb has two adjustable cups instead of one flanged so you can shift it laterally in the bb shell to adjust the chainline. The downside of this is that it can come loose if you dont tighten it up loads.
You could get a campag bb as they are iso too, but I couldnt find a 107, you could do 109 and have an extra 1mm either side which could be ok depending on your chain line. Best bet is to measure your rear spacing from centre to centre of the teeth of the sprocket. -

Sorry, hubs are formula

OK, I am starting to sense it would be just easier to get the Miche BB.
BUT, being either stubborn or plain annoying (take your pick) I cannot let the issue go, and have researched (even more) to find the following options:
Any Campa BB (Chorus and more) 102 mm. Several on this forum seem to have struck perfect chainline with a 120 mm hub and this combo. However, I do not understand how this can be the case, if the Miche bb is 107 mm, and gives many of perfect chainline as well?
White Industries 68 x 108 - ISO Taper BB $108.00. This is apparantly a special order for Bens cycles, aimed at the Sugino 75 crowd, looking for a sealed bearing. But being close to the Miches 107 mm it sounds ideal as well?
Phil Wood Stainless Campagnolo Bottom Bracket - 68 x 108 mm. Pricy, but again sounds appropriate?
STRONGLIGHT SBBA, 68 x 107 mm. at exactly the same dimension as the Miche BB and a 50 GBP pricetag this is sounding more and more ideal?
Thanks for your patience with me, and hey GA2G, do you have any openings for list obsessed people? This could turn into the 'list of possible BBs for Miche Advanced instead of the Miche BB'!
Cheers, M

- I don't see how this could work either, so probably dont get a 102mm bb?
- Yes would work, 0.5mm isnt a lot.
- See above. Also adjustable to get the chainline right.
- New stronglight is J.I.S not ISO so watch out, consequently this wouldnt be ideal.
In summary, stop making life hard for yourself and get the miche bb.

I would not in my life get a Miche BB, tried it once, gave up after needing to tighten it three times in a week (yes I used locktite and yes I used all my manly power on that motha). So I went with a campag centaur and I have a phil rear hub. It doesnt make that much noise!
And yeah, make sure you get the correct taper, you can put ISO on JIS and vice versa, but you might screw them up and if you change your bb they might not fit again.

I had my Miche BB which is Italian Threaded in there since XMAS, not needed to do anything with it.
The Miche BB is supposed to work with the primato advanced crankset, so why not get it?

Miche bb has worked fine with my advanced cranks, no problems whatsoever

Just get the Miche Primato BB ffs.

They are great. When installed correctly, they will give year(s) of trouble free service.
And I know of a couple of people racing at national / international level using them, so I don't want to hear any b*llocks about performance. If they are good enough for the pros, they are good enough for us idiots.

As said above, why make it hard on yourself? That bb was made with the Miche crankset in mind.
And great value at 11 odd quid at the right places.
Guys, bear with this newbie, I am REALLY trying to understand this, and have surfed the web and read the transmission database many times by now.
I am set on the Miche advanced cranks, and have ordered them. Now need to order a BB.
As I understand it, I need a BB that is:
So far so good. But the thing that puzzles me is the axle lenght.
From reading the transmission database, people are using BBs with various lenghts, and I would think the 107 mm suggested by the Miche BB is the 'optimal'?
BTW: I will be using with 120 mm rear hub.
So, the alternatives as I understand them:
Miche BB, ISO, 107 mm
Shimano UN54, ISO, 107 or 110 mm
Campagnolo Centaur 111mm
Campa Chorus (Double tapered?) 102 mm
Campa record Pista 111 mm (Assymetrical?)
Any other BBs to consider? and again, why would I go for a UN54 that was 110, rather than 107? (As I see some people are doing)
Thanks for your help in advance
Cheers, M
