Also spotted: Untold numbers of people with geared bikes trying to 'trackstand' at lights. I get the feeling they don't even realise that it's done my having a fixed drivetrain, not by slowly creeping forward a bit, wobbling, and backpedalling your freewheel a bit, and slowly creeping forward a bit, and wobbling ...

That's not a 'trackstand', then, I'd say, by virtue of not being performed on a track bike.

I don't think there's a word for it--'roadstand'? ;)

The effect is similar, of course.
