• Depends on the Shirtmaker.

Harvie & Hudson are a proper old school firm, the last to make their shirts in-house. And the shirts are superb quality. They know a thing or two about customer service: I went in there as scruffy as hell in dirty motorcycle gear and they still treated me like a king.

But yeah, your Thomas Pink, Charles Tyrwhitt and other upstarts can fuck right off.

ah, hence the quotation marks.. turnbull and asser, catering to the older gentleman, and therefore not pandering to some perceived market chase, still make fine shirts. Not sure about Harvey and Hudson or Hilditch and Key...but yep, Hawes and Curtis, Pink, tyrwhitt, all them jokers... if I see one more sodding cutaway collar "because it's gentlemanly" or slim-fit gaudy "smart casual" shirts - presumably designed so you can get into all the crappest overpriced joints in town who have a dress code - ... jeeezzz....

this is all out of one hurried trip round to get my brother a shirt for his wedding suit...
