• i just cannot understand why she is on the radio! so fucking irritating and such a bellpiece.

Amen to that. Jo Wiley, Chris Moyles and Tim Westwood - the unholy trinity. Or just wholly awful trinity. I hate Radio 1 with a passion, we used to be forced to endure it at work until I put my foot down and insisted that we wire a computer up to the stereo so we could use last.fm and itunes.

Each of the buggers is annoying in a different way, Westwood with his invented faux-street accent, Moyles just for living, ditto Wiley although my particular loathing for her stems primarily from the unparalleled horror that is "Changing Tracks".

For those of you lucky enough not to know what Changing Tracks is, it basically involves a 14 year old sending a letter to Ms. Wiley explaining why a certain musicial masterpiece is so special to them.

The track/masterpiece is normally by Coldplay or Keane, or an equally vapid band. The letter is normally several pages long, detailing a scenario in which said teenager went camping in Bordeaux for a week, got done in the ear by a French boy called Jean (who she assumed she would marry), but now he doesn't answer her emails and has deleted her from Facebook.

Wiley then reads the entire bloody tome of angst-ridden drivel in a serious voice, before finally playing said track. It's truly horrific to listen to, an aural slow-motion car crash that sucks the very life out of all those who hear it.

Who actually listens to Radio 1 anyway? When I was a teenager Radio 1 was considered mainstream and we listened to mind-destroyingly terrible happy hardcore, dnb and west-coast hip hop. At least we had some kind of vague taste for music that our elders would abhor.

Actually I still like westcoast hip hop and dnb, maybe not so much the happy hardcore.... Seriously though, if you're young then you should be listening to music that your parents hate and doing irresponsible things no? You should certainly not be writing to jo Wiley in order to tell her that a boy looked at you funny and now you think you might be pregnant.

In case you hadn't guessed, I really hate Radio 1.
