i can't believe how long those drop-outs are. is there any possible reason for that? surely not for changing over gearing. if you owned a frame like this, you should have been able to adjust your chain length properly.
There's a hole to the right for gear cables to come out of. And you can just see two screws for removing the track ends.
I've a feeling that you can basically take them out and put other ends in. So it's not the optimal length of track ends, it's just the length that fits in that space.
Maybe the gear one uses up half the space attempting to add a hanger on an arm... as there isn't a gear hanger anywhere.
