Its very rare for a frame to have structural issues - generally its fillet brazed or tig welded frames that suffer the most where the water cannot get out. That Dawes will be fine though pitting on the surface may show through the powder coating...
Bare metal frames can be clearcoated though eventually water moisture will get under the clearcoat...
