I'm all about the charge spoon. Cheap, slim and surprisingly comfy. Not the best saddle I'm sure but it definitely works for your Affordable requirement.

buy that san marco and strip it to the bare plastic
not the actual stripped saddle, but will look awesome - just like the £150 saddles at 10th of the cost.

nah that's the problem, Madison aren't stocking them anymore, so literally no bikeshops have them. It's pising me off.
Charge spoon looks quite cool, will look into it. -

quite like the idea of stripping a saddle though, bit hit and miss but could look sweet.

second the charge spoon, although the saddle itself sinks after time (had mine 3 years ish) and the threads become prominent, chafing arse and the saddle of your jeans. but it was very comfortable for 2 1/2 years

Kingsway Cycles on City Road (near the Grafton) had boxed and brand new black Rolls saddles for £25- that's where I got mine from a couple of months ago. They are awesome, took a bit of getting used to but now super comfortable

See the other saddles thread. Koobi Xenon FTW - a bit more money but super comfy despite not being thickly padded. For additional squashiness they do an "enduro" model.

Brooks Professional [then chopped by Skully].not light weight...but...unbeatable...for me.....saddles and derrieres are very personal...and what applies to one...does not apply to another....saddle reviews are generally pointless.....a case of trial and error....and occasionally trial and success.......my experience.
After ordering the same saddle three times from different shops, and having been told that actually they're out of stock (why fucking post it on your website if you don't have it??) I've decided to give up on getting a san marco skn,
was wondering if anyone knew of any other slim, low profile road saddles which are affordable (with a capital A).
OR, if anyone had anything knocking about which i would be able to purchase.
cheers, Angus
