  • Yeah I've been watching that scott since it was mentioned two or three pages back... have a feeling some others are too, don't really have the money for it either... I'm trying to use it as a guide for another flying scot that I'm trying to get, so I hope it doesn't get to high!!!

Anyone have an idea how much I should offer for a small 1954 flying scott, missing headbadge and refurbished to an alright quality (frame number 503D, I think it's thre real thing, but difficult to be 100%)? Seller is being very cadgy about what he'd like... (ie more than I've offered so far!)

get the frame number and approach the owners club for flying scott, there must be one.
they will be able to tell you everything and be able to tell you what to look for to authenticate it.
bear in mind that ebay is not an extension of lfgss. i would lay money on the fact that there are watchers on that item in places you have never heard of. fifty watchers on a nice frame is low in the scheme of things. looking the way it looks i would imagine there are at least 90 global watchers on that flying scott and there will be more before it ends. if i was you i would man/woman up and make mr cagey a serious offer, he just might be one of the 90 watchers waiting to see what this one goes for. if you really want it and you intend on keeping it imagine you are buying it over five years or even ten.
