  • machined braking surface, 40mm..omas hub..the top tube is oval in the middle

  • Heres my £20 beater..

  • thats my kind of bike, nice and rusty. imo tho drops would look alot better on that, but i think that about all bikes so meh

  • I've been a newbie on the site (1 month) and this is my first SS project (will eventually switch to fixed).
As you can see, I've got an old 07' Langster and made a few changes over the last few weeks. I will probably powdercoat (light blue with glitter) it at Armourtex, upgrading the wheels and switching the forks but I'm also considering switching to another frame.

Shouts out to Gabes, Shinscar, Keith, Gav, & Marcola without whom, it would look v.different.

HTFU and turn the wheel round. Or at least add a rear brake.

I've got some mirror-polished Campag cranks to finish the u-g-l-y look. PM me.

  • Cheers Murts.
I might bring it down to WestBeers tomorrow, but will have to dash back home after pl.

  • Is that the frame i picked up for you? - looks awesome!

  • loving the cable holders :)

  • Yes VV, came out nice - washed, degreased, t-cutted, re-touched, washed, wd40'd - voila!

There was a complete Campagnolo TI bike on CTC forum last week. bargain at £200! I've still got an eye out for you mate.

  • I have NOS Dura-Ace cable holders somewhere in my flat Murtle...
    somewhere in a padded envelope..

  • That sheldon sticker is awesome.

  • Hi provenrad - I bought the Ti Raleigh on eBay last week and will post some pics in due course - it is full Nuovo Record, but I will be fitting some SR levers as you have (who can resist the holes?) and some yellow Benotto tape. I found some late 80s Chorus Aero pedals and clips as well.

There is one on the bay at the moment not moving coz of bad pics.

A question - is it possible to get touch up paint? The paint on mine is good, but there are a couple of chips to touch in.

    Thanks

  • This, in my best west-country accent, is well lush!

  • tt cable clips I bought 8 months ago

where did you get these i'm using plastic ties it looks abit rubish but my search for metal ones hasn't found much.

  • Psychlist, the red paint on mine is very faded.
You can compare the original red underneath the band-on components and under the BB.
I touched-up using humbrol / revell enamel pots from 'ModelZone' model shop near Holborn.
Buy some thinners and a 00 brush and do it in good daylight.
The paints are mixable, but this can give surprising results - like mixing two shades of red and getting purple.
3/4 paints, thinner and brush comes to a tenner.

@hammchris - cheers! long time coming, not too expensive, lots of discarded parts along the wayside.
@benjamin - ebay seller had lots of them at the time, still pop up now and again... vastly overpriced!

  • Many thanks provenrad - I'll give it a go and post pics in due course. Your bike looks stunning!
