  • Looks like a great evening for a ride guys - hope you enjoy it and avoid any werewolves. I'd love to join you but have had 3 hours kip in the last 36 hours.

    Awww man...
    sounds painful.
Go sleep Mr.P, catch you on the nxt one

  • For those that asked, the torch on my head was this one.

Thanks for a fun and pacey ride* through the blackness. Maybe see you in Kent on my birthday...

*on the fucking tube, FFS ;)

  • massive shout to james for that ride - tip top - and set at a very high docket - shame about the punctures but that as we all know is part of the deal. one night it might just cost us a train home but let all TNRC members understand....riding all the way home is a fact of life we may have to face one day.
Gina - sets the bar at a new and frightening height. home baked cookies!!!! in a tupperware dish ( you do not need to be carrying extra weight like that when we return to surrey ) great to see you out there - spinning!!!

BMMF - no cookies but great to see you out there and can't wait to see what you cook up for your birthday mate!

Everyone else - words can't describe how i feel about you guys . see you all in kent

    Sam - get posting dude

  • hope everyone made it home safely and thanks for a lovely evening out...and yes, thanks to Gina for some lovely home baking and keeping purple_mj's paws spotless

  • Echo the above, top ride James thanks for bringing it together, yet again nice pace and great company all round thanks all. Big shout to Gina for bringing a new dimension to cornys 'spin to win baby' impressive stuff, and of course great cookies also I am now packing wet wipes in my tool kit! Thanks to the wipe and top tip I had a clean ride home...

  • massive shout to james for that ride.
Gina - sets the bar at a new. home baked cookies!!!!

    i concur. indeed.
thanks for link bmmf - i'm going to by a few...ensuring full visability from deep space.

  • Gina's cookies psychedelic rocked. I've tasted the essence of night riding, and it's vanilla.

  • also I am now packing wet wipes in my tool kit! Thanks to the wipe and top tip I had a clean ride home...

Welcome to my world. Well, I use baby wipes actually.

Need to double check my revised route before posting it, but confident that it will be ready in time!

Going to check out the train to St Mary Cray next week sometime to make sure it isn't too busy for a few bikers. The first possible one after the bike ban is at exactly 7:00pm, but that might still be a bit busy with commuters. I would ask if anyone wanted to test the route with me, but the only section I need to check on is on my way home, so I'll ride it then carry on to my house. It'll be in reverse to the intended route but I'm only checking it for dangerous potholes, etc.

That's why I'm amending the route from when I rode it on Sunday. Fine in the daylight, but not so good at night :oS It adds 2 miles to the original I rode. This took me 2 1/4 hours at a leisurely pace, so there will be plenty of time for a train back to London, and (depending on the puncture situation) might also mean we have time for a sneaky pint at a lovely pub about 6 miles before the finish with only one small hill to contend with.

  • Apologies again to all for having to incur the utter incompetence of the trains in that part of the world...Hopefully the countryside made up for it.
It's a nice feeling, leading riders through a part of the country that you grew up in.
However, just like hosting a party, it's not all that relaxing. You never really enjoy it quite as much as everyone else.
Cheers to everyone though for coming along, Gina for the puncture-stop cookies, BMMF for putting up with it all (can't quite believe I'm responsible for your first tube ride of the year), and to Texas and Polkinghorn for joining the regulars.
    Catch you soon people.

Hope the doctor jabbed you in the right place this morning VED

    • WaaaHeY !!
  • Sounds like fun.

When do you guys/girls do normal stuff like eat? Or is it strictly gel and pro-plus?

  • i bet andyp is still sleeping! lol

  • another lovely night out in some wonderful country lanes.

nice one shoots for leading us it out with speed and panache. and to all for adding to the mix. i hung back at one point and savoured the little galaxy of light you all were throwing up above the hedgeline into the night - was lovely.

some stats for the, uh, stattos out there.

  • Its all been said: great night all round - cool route, lovely cookies, cheers James and Gina. Train hassle just adds a bit of spice to the evening. Roll on Kent ... I am going to suffer.

  • Hmmm, I seem to be under a lot of pressure here, and there's still a fortnight to go!

  • [st]No[/st] pressure, Sam.

  • errr... 13 days actually Sam... hee hee.
Seriously though... don't sweat it. Any ride you do will be great.
TNRC's ability to adapt is fast becoming legendary.
