also I am now packing wet wipes in my tool kit! Thanks to the wipe and top tip I had a clean ride home...
Welcome to my world. Well, I use baby wipes actually.
Need to double check my revised route before posting it, but confident that it will be ready in time!
Going to check out the train to St Mary Cray next week sometime to make sure it isn't too busy for a few bikers. The first possible one after the bike ban is at exactly 7:00pm, but that might still be a bit busy with commuters. I would ask if anyone wanted to test the route with me, but the only section I need to check on is on my way home, so I'll ride it then carry on to my house. It'll be in reverse to the intended route but I'm only checking it for dangerous potholes, etc.
That's why I'm amending the route from when I rode it on Sunday. Fine in the daylight, but not so good at night :oS It adds 2 miles to the original I rode. This took me 2 1/4 hours at a leisurely pace, so there will be plenty of time for a train back to London, and (depending on the puncture situation) might also mean we have time for a sneaky pint at a lovely pub about 6 miles before the finish with only one small hill to contend with.
