ok, then. anyone got ideas on a setup to start off with. what are the advantages of one type of pedal and cleat opposed to others, or is it all good old personal preference.
Bare in mind that you will be applying more upwards force to the pedals on a fixed than a bike with a freewheel. Also things can get a bit messy, should you unclip unintentionally. I have eggbeaters on a geared bike and love them, but they would'nt be my first choice for my fixed (where I have quattros for better connection).
MTB set-ups are good for walk-ability, putting feet down at lights etc. as are touring style set-ups (road cleats but shoes have extra rubber chunks for walking). Cages allow you to wear normal shoes. So its down to personal preferance I guess.
Time Atacs seem to be the most popular clippless chioce on here though.
