  • do you know any cycling related films and where i could get hold of them.

a small cinema in south east london is prepared to screen them for us to raise money for charity.

place holds 40 to 50 people and is very cosy.

it wont be expensive and could be a nice evening one night a week for a month

the thought came to me because i really want to see 'stars and the watercarriers'
which is in the same vein as a 'sunday in hell' if you know that film. and it deserves to be seen on a biggish screen.

a ride could be incorporated into the evening if you liked straight after the film or it could be beer :-)

provisionally i need to know rough numbers of who would be interested what films you know of or would like to see and prefered evening.

what happens in film club, stays in film club.

so far these are the suggested films. The titles with stars beside them are films that forumers have a copy of so maybe we should select from those. we should be able to have 2 films with drinks before during and after :-)

    Breaking Away *

    a Sunday in Hell

    BMX Bandits

    Klunkerz

    Les Triplettes de Belleville *

    Quicksilver *

    Le Velo *

    Stars & Watercarriers *

    Hell on Wheels *

    overcoming *

    Beijing Bicycle *

    Boy , a Girl, and a Bicycle

    macaframa

    American Flyers

    Red Light Go *

  • Sounds cool, especially since I always miss the BFF..

Do you actually mean FILM or can the cinema do DVD, etc?

  • /\ /\
video dvd anything really. facilities should be there to show our own short films if we wanted. that might take a little organising but its possible. and there could be talks afterwards. its up to us.

  • DVD is shit quality, especially when projected onto a large screen and can severely hamper viewing enjoyment. I know, as that's how I first saw 'Breaking Away'. I wish I'd seen it on proper film.

breaking away might be available on video, i will ask if its available in any other formats

  • the theatre can hold beween 80 and a 100 if needed so there should be room for all. the charity would be the big issue.
if it was a fundraising event they could make it a double bill with drinks in between

That's all well and good.. but how many people on here have FILMS sitting on their shelves at home?

Drinks before, during, in-between and after.

  • American Flyers ftw!

  • ah, Breaking Away. classic.
    What about BMX Bandits?

  • nes of this forum has got untold amounts of films, shorts, all sorts
if she isnt up to her neck in mcr stuff may oblige?
'Klunkerz' is a cool film about Gary Fisher,California the evolution of mtb, not fixed related but interesting, quality watch anyway.
all the 'collective' stuff looks amazing on big screen too.

  • MTB vids get me hard.. Disorder, Jib, Dirt, red bull rampage stuff. I have loads of divx and a few legit DVDs but mostly in Oz. :(
