Did you get any witnesses?
-
• #3
Is there any CCTV in the area?
-
• #4
there was nobody else around and no cctv I have taken photos of the old guys skidmarks he left and all different angles cant think what else to do
-
• #5
Where did it happen?
-
• #6
One thing I would probably assume is that the guy will probably deny his indicator was on. Even if it was on ( which I am not doubting ) and you could prove it was , I'm not sure you could claim that it was his fault as you pulled out in front of him.
One word of advice, and this is not meant to be patronising is never assume, just because a driver is indicating, that they really are going to turn. There are all sorts of idiots out there.

yeah I keep seeing this lanky streak of piss guy on a black frame with orange wheels always riding over a pedestrian crossing near Old St roundabout. Pedestrian crossing! ffs!

if you haven't read this, your OP is a bit vague, here is Roxy's what to do in an accident thread.
should answer a lot of your questions -

In any case, the driver should have stopped.
Good luck with everything. -
• #10
Even if he is indicating you should never assume that the driver will. I think even with witnesess you will have a problem filling a claim against him.
Main thing though is that you are ok as a bike can be replaced.

LOL funny that! If there is one place in London where they need a sort of seperate cycle crossing next to the ped crossing it is there. Do you go straight on accross there too? The cycle lane where the Dragon bar used to be has to be one of the worst for coffee drinking morons leaping straight out in front of me in the mornings

heh. Yeah I go through that too. That's why we keep bumping into each other there! I just know some muppet fakencop is gonna try and ticket me for crossing the pavement there at some point. Even though the lights have red and green bike signals as well as red and green ped ones.
That contra-lane down Leonard street is a joke, contstantly nearly dying either under a cab who seems to think we shouldn't be going down it, or cyclists INSISTING on using is going the wrong way (with the motor traffic). Or the kamikaze peds.
I once came off there and bust a rib, trying to brake on a wet manhole whilst trying to avoid a ped. Always going sloooowww now.

glad you are okay dude. shame about the bike, hope it wasn't a really nice one as i don't think you will be able to do much about what happened here.

• #16
Paranoia is your friend don't trust anyone to do what you expect them to.

puahh! they're there only for terrorist attacks, and even then they tell you they can't look at the tapes as it's a "violation of privacy"....

Lunchtime I riding down the road looking into a car that was indicating to go right and but was going straight on - the driver at the time was steering with his knees and texting - don't ever assume any driver ever has seen you

-
• #20

etc...
hope you are ok. sorry your bike is damaged. accidents suck. the accident is your fault. if you were in a car, do you think it'd be any other way? you cut him off, blinker or not. I bet you'll never do that again.
cant believe this Im so pissed off,
there I was going to turn right at a junction I see a car coming along indicating left to go up the road I am pulling out of, all seemed good so i pull out only for the twat who was indicating left to carry straight on and into me, luckily I am ok but my bike is fucked, he stopped, wound his window down and asked if I was ok, I said you were indicating left but never turned he says I dont think i was anyway I said I think I am ok and then he drove off!!!!! I got his registration
There were no witnesses but I have rang the ploice and have to go and fill a form in at my local station,
Anyone have any advice, I think I should be able to claim off as my frame is bent and wheels are knackered
And help greatly apreciated and yes I should have read the sticky about accidents before
