hi, i myself am another lurker, started riding single speed a year ago,on an edwardes track bike, then stolen, so in a fit of desperation bought a charge plug and upgraded it , ok for smashing around but already looking for first frame build , didnt think id ever want a proper fixed, how wrong was i,cant stop thinking about the rouke lo pro for sale at mo, if it fits il have, would love to learn how to wheel build aswell
cheers allWelcome to the forum mate, rourke, bob jackson etc, are all lovely frame sets, but there is nothing wrong with the charge plug either, loads of people ride them on here, and they are still a really good base to build a bike from, one of the toughest frames around IMO.

sorry, Rodeo wasn't keen on petrol sports myself.. although my cousins did race sprints at Santa Pod both UK champions in their time too. They own Lazer Motorcycles, Chalk Farm.. I had a couple of bad experiences riding as passenger wehen I was very young.. scary shit, wobbly leg stuff..

Hello. Bumped into Edscoble in Wimbledon the other day but he was in a rush. Since he pretty much convinced me to make the leap to fixed, and I browse the forum here a lot for tips and bits, and I follow the LFGSS twitter feed, I thought I may as well become a contributor.
I ride an Edwardes '08 Track, and a little BMX to nip to the shops for rizla.
anything else?
wow, we're on twitter? i didn't know that.

Just found the forum and wanted to say hi. I've been converted to single speed by my pub bike that I built out of an old Orange Clockwork frame and lots of bits. Now my old 531 frame that's been in the shed for 15 years is going to get the fixed treatment. If you see anyone falling off on the speed bumps in Peckham it'll probably be me.

Just joined up and thought I'd better say a quick hello.
Been lurking for a while...so far my only venture into single speed has been with BMX's - got back into racing over the last year with a Floval Flyer and an old Hoffman Flash - and occasionally scoot around the streets and parks on an old Bully Bashguard.
Had been thinking of a geared road bike to improve general fitness to help out with the racing, but then found all these lovely fixed and single speed machines - have to admit to having a big crush on the Charge Plug Racer....think its all that chrome appealing to the BMXer in me!
Forum seems to have a wealth of useful info for a newbie like me, and a real friendly vibe to boot...Cheers

Hey all
Just joined!
Have just got a fixie/ss- wanting to flip the wheel as currently set up as ss - unfortunately don't have a spanner that fits- anyone know of a London bike shop that'll let me borrow a spanner?
Thanks!

Don't buy a crap spanner, buy a good quality one--an investment that will last you for years.

Yo!
I've just joined this forum and as i thought i'd just introduce myself to whoever has bothered to read this!
Always been into bikes and stuff (bmx etc really) but recently got into fixed gear bikes and such, still looking for a bike to start out with and all that,
plus where im from (essex) only a handful of people ride fixed gear bikes and stuff, so i thought the best place to get to know people and that is here! i spend most my time in london anyway so theres no doubt i've spotted some of you lot around,
if you could give me any advice on getting started and getting my first bike/building my first bike, it would be highly appreciated!
thanks a bunch!

Hey up-
Been reading for a while and decided to stick my oar in the water. Been riding various home built single speed's for a few years, had a fixed for a few months until about 5 months ago when I moved t Manchester and promptly got it knicked!
Bought my replacement TODAY though off ebay... picking up on weds. Any other mancunians out there?
Nice t be here
Rory
