Hah, live near the original one (between Old Street and Clerkenwell Road), the original one is a lots better than the new one in Titchfield street, Pho is fucking lush!

Cha Cha Moon is not cheap, they're expensive now, and Hare & Tortoise are awful, taste like instant food apart from the sushi (and you can find better sushi than there too, like that little japanese place near Condor Cycles).

the best thing about Hare n Tortoise is the Maylasian Laksa. The best i've found in London. [including those white spikey seafood slices with pink spirals in them - TOTALLY natural ;) ]

Anyone tried the basement to the Korean supermarket on Store Street (off Tottenham Court Road)? or infact any of the Korean restaurants underneath Centre Point.
Korean pizza / pancake is the shizzle! bubimbab... f00k me i'm hungry now...

  • Sakura in Hanover Street. My standard recommendation.

i remember they were really rude to me and my (now ex) gf there.
basically staring at us eating and kicking us out before we finished chewing. wtf?

  • You chewed too slowly. It was only fair.

  • yea i guess it was pretty much ALL my fault.
doubt it was the missus' - she doesnt chew. just swallows.

  • @ Buzzlightyear, Kaisu on Queensway does best Singapore laksa I've found.
Also cannot recommend enough Bonda Cafe, Malaysian in basement on corner of Sussex gardens & Spring street - excellent mee goreng.

  • +1 on Sakura

  • I quite like the place in romily street called "eat tokyo":

    http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/restaurants/eat-tokyo-userreview-55661.html

They are quite authentic, and have got nice bento from 6 pounds up, and their tempura is really good. Don't let the photocopied menues scare you off.

  • +1 sakura

kulu kulu sushi on brewer st. or south ken is a much cheaper version of Yo! and the food IMO is still nice. and it's help-yourself green tea!

  • Mushi Mushi on Skyline Lane

  • Muang Thai, opposite of the Roundhouse.

  • Japanese bento place near camden town tube...that's not bad

  • burger king

  • Wimpy

  • Shouldn't you be flogging some sort of paste on the Guardian website?

  • cottage chicken eaten with chopsticks

  • There's waka sushi in camden, which my g/f said came pretty close to what you'd find in japan.
Same run down charme etc, and good sushi all together.
