Those Cardiff shots were great (from a photography sense) but there weren't enough Greggs wrappers for my liking
London is a great place and you get hip cats, wannabes tagging along, scabs and decent folk, i wouldn't say certain areas are too full of any of the above.
**Sad thing is the original Hipsters were intelligent talented and on a mission. they pushed music and intellectial thoughht.. Calling this bunch of fashion followers who dress up in the bizzarest mesh of clothing you can drag out of a charity bin isn't hip. **
They are teenagers and they will grow out of it
well, therefore you're touching on the idea of pretention, right?
There is no doubt in my mind that from the outside i probably look like a 'hipster' - maybe? I live in East london, i'm in a band, i ride a single speed, i like world cinema, i work in TV but hate it, i like interesting clothes, architecture etc etc etc......
but i dont believe i'm pretentious or a 'hipster' because i do what i do genuinely.
East London - artistic, cheap, always moving, nice location. My band - Not even a tiny bit cool, but then does that make us cool? I care more about music than anything else on this planet and i see countless, COUNTLESS bands who get lapped up by everyone because they look cool, have shit all to say (which is apparently 'waaaay cooler than having meaning), dont want to learn the 'art from' that is music and rehash anything that makes them seem 'quirky-fly-off the wall-etc-etc' Single-speed/Fixed gear - sexy bikes, good for the world/me, i enjoy riding world cinema - love lots and lots of films, and the more i watch the more my tastes refine and i seek out niche films, gritty films, films that probably have only got 10 viewers because the majority of the world think that 'Reqiuem for a Dream' is almost too cutting edge as it is. TV - fuck - i HATE it. The single most wasted potential on this planet.
