Stolen white deep v wheel - Spitalfields

hey dudes, some knob just stole my rear deep v just near the cycle surgery in spitalfields...

My own dumb fault - contented myself with the knowledge that is was broad daylight, high traffic, in front of a coffee shop, and for 20 minutes... alas never been contented.

It has a pretty unique spoke design "snow flake" and a bolt on sprocket so if anyone sees it out and about let me know!!

omg. How was the bike/wheel locked etc? I leave my bike outside there sometimes. These scummy thieving fuckers are everywhere now. Usually that area is packed with city bods drinking coffee and eating. That is actually quite worrying

I just cycle past that bike at 7.30 as far as I remember when i was on the way to trixie dix, you locked it up on a lamp post high up away from the ground did you?

how did the rear wheel got stolen? you just locked the frame to the lamp post?

go to BLB in the morning to warn them there might be a bloke selling that wheel to them, as well as checking Theft Lane Market

yeah that was me... I locked the frame and front wheel (as it's quick release!) to lamp post... Stupidly thought given I was only gonna be quick my rear would be ok... So no one to blame but myself!

Unfortunately, in a way you are right. It is your fault. Its just really sad that the situation is so bad that you can't drop your guard for a second. Hope you have luck getting it back

you can get some allen key skewers to replace the QR one, pretty cheap allowing you to lock your rear wheel (after all that's the most expensive out of the two wheels), or even those skewers that required a specific key to open them making it slightly more seduce.

ah what doesn't kill you, make you stronger, least it's not the entire bike, that'd be even worse!

i know how you feel - got my rear wheel knicked from outside UCL a week or two ago - vintage campy record hub on mavic MA3 (or whatever they were called before open pros). so demoralising because its my fault for not buying another lock and all it took was for someone to walk past with an adjusatable spanner while i was listening to some moron give a presentation. gutted.

at least it gives me an excuse to get a new wheelset in the summer...

dicki, there was a story recently that someone actually did follow the crooks back to the place, but the rozzers didn't give a toss

i've made my chain v short so you have to deflate the tire to remove the chain and rear wheel. Most thieves wont think about this.
