I saw this at a trade show in Munich in February. I don't know if it's a repost. They were showing off a carbon fibre structure which was supposed to be super strong. It's all hand made:

very inteesting, i guess it does its job of having people talk about it and the company that manufacture it.

it looks like rolled up chicken wire.Right, I'm off to buy a soldering gun, and some tightly rolled chicken wire. Then build my own frame.
Wonder if they sell titanium chicken wire ;) -

Not too keen on it, although I wonder what the aerodynamics are like on it? Most probably heavier than a standard Carbon frame though. -
• #13542
That is awful and a multi re-post
-
• #13543
agreed and yes it is. fucking gash. pointless even. i wonder how much it'd weigh once the frame is loaded with road crud (or if you're tynan, diamonds).
-
• #13544
if tyan loaded that with diomands i will be running behind and picking them up with amount of wholes in it.
dont get the mtb if the frame dings a rock or fallen log will it not snap two or three of the weaves, then weaken the frame? -

Most probably heavier than a standard Carbon frame though.Frames are reputed to be incredibly light. approx 6-700g for the frame (minus headset seat clamp etc). The best of the current normal carbon frames are somewhere between 900-1000g so it is quite an achievement. They are pretty odd to look at though and I bet an absolute pig to keep clean.

TBH mate looks like a load of effort for something that ain't ever going to get ridden properly. Waste of time. This ain't bike bike porn, it is Bike tech. Bikes are to be ridden hard, crashed and abused. If your bike doesn't go through this process you ain't riding your bike hard enough.

It felt really light but i think the main point was the strength. The bearded man was saying that a single 3mm rod needs a huge amount of force to snap so the whole structure is super strong
