Penchant for curvy seatstay bridges

Posted on
  • Hi I need some help looking for a new track frame. I'm still riding my first fixed gear, but it's time to move on. I'd like steel, about 60cm, preferably not lugged (I'm thinking more new school). My budget is not definite yet but I'm looking in the £250 - 500 area. It's going to be for road use.

The only problem is, I have a penchant for curvy seatstay bridges.....

  • Lugged, yet very nice indeed:

  • Very nice, saw that just now. I wont be in the money until the end of may so doubt it'll still be around. Plus a tad old school.

  • The pink bikes looks cool but theres no way that'd hold itself together.

If you go for the top end of your budget you could 'probably' get a custom frame if you look hard.

  • this guy does beautiful work, granted it's in the USA.

i thought of it because of his odd seat stays some of the bikes he builds

    here's one thats lugged:

  • I heard Moyer has stopped.

Please prove me wrong though. Please.

  • Well a couple of months down the line and I now have a new frame fresh from the builder, the only problem is he forgot the bloody curving seat bridge!!!
I've waited five weeks for this frame and now its got to go back to the builder and I bet I wont see it for another week or two. I even gave sketches of how I wanted it when I ordered it.
    A bit pissed of.

  • Who was the framebuilder and what tubeset is it please?

  • tubes are dedaacciaaciaii or however you spell it. Dont want to name and shame the builder until I've seen how well they can sort it out.

  • BB looks very very low.

  • forks look nice and chunky! nice.

  • thats a Lee Cooper/shop 14 build if i'm not mistaken.

  • It is indeed.

Just went back to the shop to find out whats to be done. They were already packing it up to send it back to coventry to have it sorted. they gave me the fork to keep me happy in the mean time.... and it worked!
