mate, try out the Kodak slide film if you want to have a blueish tint (i.e. look normal but vivid);
(that's my missus' Holga shot from Peru).
Holga...very light camera, good medium format to carry around, only shame zero details.

Same reasons I like my Polaroid Sonar SX-70 (though the optics are fine and it's not MF). Such a shame the remaining 600 film stock is £££, still sad over only getting one year of use from the camera.

I used for many years 35mm and medium format for my work, and polaroid too for fun...very £££, and now is all gone! Professionally they want just digital, cheaper and they can see their job immediately and save some money. For my personal fun i use a compact Canon G9 and photoshop, which is i believe the new way of printing, at home.

marcom, I think the point of this thread, is that there are people that don't actually believe that film, or film cameras are now a dead issue/cause. The BBC link on the previous page illustrates this.
Digital has established itself as the dominant photographic medium, but there is belief that the film medium isn't quite finished yet. There is a digital photography thread for admirers of that medium.

I do believe that digital does make a huge difference when it come to make a living out of photography, but there are certain aspect that simply make film simply irreplacable, such as the Holga camera for instance;
(not mine, it's from Plastic lenses never lie, but they are known to blur the truth a bit on Flickr - Photo Sharing!)

You will be killed off soon enough with your polluting chemicals and petrochemical emulsions and film bases - we digital men © will rule like a giant magisterial swan with a point and shoot.
Film is for people who don't know how to make digital do what they want it to do.
You fools, you bloody fools.
MuuhahahHAhahaHAhhahHAHAHAHahHAHA.

What are the things that make film irreplaceable ?
(hopes to kick off a massive digital v film war that will culminate in a big punch-up in Hyde Park mid summer.)

Couple of Holga-trons from Cuba this winter
NB well up for a camera-off mid summer. Sunshine will be way to bright for your CMOS sensors. Pah!

I'm still have a Pentax 67 II and i'm still love the feeling of the film, but shoot in film, scan it(drum) ,is too bloody £££ and in the end what TYNAN said "Film is for people who don't know how to make digital do what they want it to do." is almost totally true. I suffer a lot when a few years ago I have been ask to change....after a while i saw the vantage and now I miss the film mainly when i have a client next to me who do not understand how you can change that file later in photoshop.
By the way we still have the top range in film. The Large format.

I still shoot film, and still RA4 (which is why you have to excuse the shit scan quality) - I've got an assignment coming up this weekend in fact, spending a week at a Christian commune, hope I dont get converted or anything haha.
Here's a few images from five previous projects.

At the end of the day theres no argument really, you prefer one or the other. I shoot film because I love the darkroom, I cant stand sitting infront of a computer screen for ages.
I also believe there is a huge difference between an inkjet print and an RA4 print, the way chemicals react to light must be completely different than laying ink onto paper.
The final reason I shoot film is down to the superior build quality of analogue cameras, dont get me wrong i'm sure the high end SLR's are built really well, but theres no beating a glass focusing screen in my opinion.
The only downfall (for me) with film is cost, but considering I'm at Uni all my film processing is free, and so is use of the darkroom so its not so bad.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
When I moved recently I gave my old vintage Polaroid (complete with extra flash bulbs) to the local charity shop.
Fucksticks.

photoben, not many places or people know about this, so car-boot sales or even some camera shops will be practically giving this stuff away.
Get what you like, cheap.....before too many people know.;)

You could maybe try some out of date film for cross processing .
As for where you would get hold of it not too sure .
But I had some lying around about two years out of date and the colours were amazing will try and post them up if I can manage it -

"but theres no beating a glass focusing screen in my opinion"
true. the manual focus screen i use in my digital canon is much better than the normal screen.
